Aliens from another planet launch an invasion of Earth, but their initial ship is destroyed by Gamera, a giant flying turtle. The aliens regroup and capture two Boy Scouts, using them as bait to lure Gamera away from attacking their second ship. They implant a remote control device in Gamera's neck, exploiting the monster to wreak havoc on Tokyo. However, the boys devise a plan to disrupt the device, causing Gamera to malfunction and destroy the alien ship. The turtle then faces off against Viras, a giant squid-like alien leader, in a battle to save the city.
