In the tumultuous 1970s, four childhood friends from diverse family backgrounds go their separate ways after college. When they reunite, they're shocked to discover that one has been incarcerated and another has succumbed to a life of drug addiction. As their lives take a dark turn, the friends become adversaries in the criminal underworld.
