Karen McCann's life is shattered when her daughter is brutally murdered over the phone. When the perpetrator, Robert Doob, is released due to a technicality, Karen becomes obsessed with tracking him down. She witnesses him stalking another victim and tries to warn her, but is ignored. As Doob threatens her youngest daughter, Karen turns to a group of vigilantes for help. However, an FBI agent infiltrating the group warns her that taking the law into her own hands will lead to a lifetime in prison. Desperate, Karen resorts to self-defense, ultimately luring Doob into her home and killing him in a final confrontation.
