Adult Chinese-American siblings gather in their hometown of Seattle after their mother's passing, despite their strained relationships with each other and their mother, known as the "Dragon Lady". Each sibling has personal baggage and secrets, including infidelity, past relationships, and grief. Their mother's last wish is for a traditional week-long Chinese funeral, which they must navigate with the help of their family's longtime housekeeper and caregiver, Viola. As they come together, they learn more about their mother and family's past, and ultimately uncover a significant family secret with Viola's help.
