Danny, born on a fateful day, faces a tumultuous childhood. Joining a church youth group in high school brings him solace, but his crush on classmate Megan, who shuns church boys, remains unrequited. However, Danny finds his true calling as a character inventor, and a chance encounter in costume leads him to believe that Megan will be drawn to him as a rebel.
