In December 1897, Paris, Edmond Rostand, a young father of two, struggles with writer's block after two years of inactivity. To ease his anxieties, he offers a new play to renowned actor Constant Coquelin, a heroic comedy in verse, for the holiday season. The catch: the play has yet to be written.
