In 1940, Captain S. Melly assumes command of a pioneering mixed-gender air defense base in England, which is under intense bombardment. Despite the dire circumstances, the crew's focus is more on romantic entanglements than the enemy planes overhead. Captain Melly sets out to restore order, only to find himself at the center of a conspiracy to reject his segregationist policies.
