Saima, a second-generation East Indian-American, navigates her family's expectations in Austin, Texas. Her dad pressures her to marry Ameet, whom she dislikes, and even plans to broadcast their ceremony online. After a friend's dramatic marriage, Saima appears to agree to marry Ameet, but they concoct misunderstandings and reveal his secret desire to become a male stripper. They cancel their wedding, only for Saima's dad to push her to marry Ashol, another man she dislikes.
