Atlantics background

Atlantics

A group of construction workers in Dakar, frustrated by months of unpaid labor, set out to escape their circumstances by crossing the ocean in search of a better life. Among them is Souleiman, who must leave behind his loved one Ada, who is already committed to another.

A futuristic tower is set to be inaugurated along the Atlantic coast, looming over a Dakar suburb. A 17-year-old girl, Ada, is in love with a young construction worker, Souleiman, but has been promised to another man. When Souleiman and his coworkers leave the country by sea in search of a better future, a fire destroys Ada's wedding and a mysterious fever begins to spread.
