Katherine Clark, a former Broadway writer, is now a teacher leading a youth choir that's preparing for its annual Christmas Eve fundraiser. However, she faces two last-minute setbacks: the commissioned songwriter drops out, leaving no title song, and her star tenor falls ill. Katherine must write the title song herself and finds a replacement in Danny, a young man interning at the school. Despite his natural talent, Danny has never performed in public and his widowed father, Greg, is hesitant to let him focus on singing, as it wasn't part of their plan. The situation becomes more complicated as Katherine develops relationships with Greg and Danny, who has an ulterior motive for joining the choir.
