Cocoa Hoto is an energetic positive girl who becomes friends with anyone in just three seconds. After moving into the Kafuu family's household to attend high school away from home, she immediately befriends Chino Kafuu's shy and precocious granddaughter, Tippy, along with her other cafe associates. Kokoa works as a waitress for room and board and forms bonds with Rize Tedeza, who has unusual behavior and physical capabilities due to military upbringing; Chiya Ujimatsu from another rival cafe, known for working at her own pace despite being impoverished; and Sharo Kirima, an air of nobility despite financial struggles.
