In Japan during the Edo period, a select group of criminals offered amnesty from execution if they investigate an uncharted island discovered southwest of the Ryukyu Kingdom. The convicts are escorted by elite guards to prevent escapes. Upon reaching the island, they encounter a society dominated by immortal beings, which include monstrous creations and human residents. Now, both convicts and guards must collaborate to defeat the immortals and escape the island safely.
