Twenty-five-year-old pizza delivery boy Philip J. Fry's life is stagnant until he accidentally freezes himself on December 31, 1999. He awakens 1,000 years later with an opportunity to reboot. Fry joins the Planet Express Corporation, a futuristic delivery service that spans the universe, alongside Captain Leela, a one-eyed alien with impressive combat skills, and Bender, a flawed robot with human-like tendencies.
