In "Vacationland", three late high school age friends, Joe, Theresa, and Andrew, navigate their lives in Bangor, Maine. Joe and Theresa work at a notions store, while Andrew has a talent for stealing and making fake IDs. The story follows their struggles, relationships, and self-discovery as they try to escape their poverty-stricken neighborhood. Along the way, Joe finds a job as a model and helper for a handicapped artist, who encourages him to pursue his artistic talent.
