In 1976 New York, Rico, a photographer, inhabits a Parisian fantasy, channeling the 'New Wave' era. He's a self-proclaimed gangster, loner, and outsider, using his camera as a metaphorical gun. Seeking reality to fuel his fantasy, Rico's romantic nature is his Achilles' heel, as he believes all photographers to be dishonest. When he falls in love, his carefully crafted world begins to unravel.
