Newlyweds Julian and Lily Berniers return to their hometown of New Orleans, where they will meet with Julian's older spinster sisters Anna and Carrie. Julian's mysterious meetings in New Orleans have left Lily in the dark, and she begins to suspect that his wealthy mother, Albertine Prine, may have paid him to marry her.
