Town Without Pity

The controversial 1971 film tells the story of four American soldiers stationed in a German village who are accused of the heinous crime of rape. As their trial approaches, they are represented by Major Steve Garrett, who fights to defend their innocence.

In 1960 Germany, Major Steve Garrett defends four American soldiers accused of raping 16-year-old Karin Steinhof. Despite being unimpressed with his clients, Garrett must provide the best defense possible. He tries to secure a plea bargain but Karin's father refuses, and the prosecutor seeks the death penalty. To avoid the death penalty, Garrett must thoroughly examine the victim under oath, which leads him to sympathize with Karin and try to prevent her from testifying.
