Romance novelist Marcus Harlow hosts a retreat at a Lake Tahoe resort, inviting three aspiring writers to compete for a lucrative book deal. Ruby Easton, an accountant and aspiring novelist, attends despite her reservations, hoping to learn from Marcus and overcome her rejections.
