Antonio, a dedicated carabiniere, is tasked with transporting two young siblings, Rosetta and Luciano, from Milan to Sicily, where they will be placed in an orphanage. The move is prompted by the arrest of their mother, who was accused of forcing 11-year-old Rosetta into prostitution.
