An unhappy and sulky prostitute, Rosa, struggles with her inheritance of the profession from her mother, Antonia. Her life takes a dramatic turn when Masha, a Russian prostitute, dies of an overdose, and her young daughter Lyuba seeks refuge in Rosa's apartment. Despite initial reservations, Rosa agrees to care for Lyuba while searching for her older brother Yuri.
