Duke Davis invests his savings in his sweetheart Ethel's road show, but she leaves him for a talent scout's offer. Feeling heartbroken and resentful, Ethel becomes a big hit in New York, but her show flops when the scout takes control. Meanwhile, Duke starts a new show, but it fails without Ethel. He joins a medicine show, becomes a successful partner, and eventually drops everything to help Ethel after hearing about her misfortune.
