Simba background

Simba

In the early 1950s, a European family in East Africa becomes embroiled in the Mau-Mau rebellion, a violent uprising by local black Africans against their white colonial rulers.

A young Englishman named Alan Howard arrives in Kenya to visit his brother's farm, only to find him brutally murdered by the Mau Mau. Alan decides to stay and fight the rebels, but he also falls in love with Mary, the daughter of a settler, who disapproves of his hatred towards the Black community. After a native physician named Dr. Karanja sacrifices his life to save a group of white settlers, Alan begins to change his views.
