Rockabilly Baby background

Rockabilly Baby

A young musician's rapid ascent to fame during the 1950s and 60s Rockabilly era forces him to confront the profound effects his success has on those around him.

It was a time when rock music was born, as legendary artists like Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly, Little Richard, and the Everly Brothers combined country-western and Negro rhythm and blues sounds. The Nashville Jubilee, known as the "Birthplace of the Stars", was the hub of this movement. The story follows Baby Boy Watkins, a piano-playing prodigy, as he gets his big break and is invited to play at the Nashville Jubilee and the World's Fair in New Orleans. However, his sister Jollene appears backstage and begs him to return home. The film is a heartwarming and heart-wrenching tale of the birth of rock and roll, set to an all-original rockabilly soundtrack.
