Two soldiers return home after the Civil War, bearing a treasure of stolen funds. However, their reunion is short-lived as they're ambushed by Union forces. One manages to flee, while the other is imprisoned for five years. Upon his release, he's met with a devastating reality: his wife has succumbed to poverty, and his former partner has amassed power and a ruthless gang, using the stolen loot to maintain his grip on the region.
