A nihilist returns to his hometown in West Cavan, carrying a doctor's bag containing a rope he plans to use for suicide. However, his plans are put on hold when his ailing father passes away, leaving a condition in his will that he cannot be buried on a wet day. As days turn into weeks, Jimmy seeks redemption through love, ultimately finding it in a sacrificial and unconventional way.
