A bright teenager, Liam Heap, is homeschooled by his single mother, Claire, who aims to make him a renowned astrophysicist like Stephen Hawking. Liam's goal is to attend Cambridge University's Astronomy program, but he secretly longs for social interaction. When Claire agrees to let him attend public high school, Liam's true intention is to befriend Anastasia, a classmate with a prosthetic leg, to whom he is drawn.
