Three brothers and their mother are forced to scatter across the globe after losing their family home in Algeria. Each brother takes a different path: one joins the French army in Indochina, another becomes a leader in the Algerian independence movement in France, and the third moves to Paris to pursue a life of fortune in the city's underground clubs and boxing rings. As their individual struggles unfold, their paths eventually converge in Paris, where the fight for freedom becomes a central theme.
