Vietnam veteran Billy Ray Lancing, now a wildlife refuge worker in Northern Alaska, has a pen-pal relationship with 13-year-old Polish orphan Irena Morawska, whom he's financially supporting. When letters stop coming, Billy travels to Poland to investigate, discovering a human trafficking network run by Faisal, worth billions, where girls are sold and traded globally. Billy, with local cop Kasia Lato, tracks Faisal using secret codes taught to Irena, aiming to rescue her and other girls, and dismantle the network.
