Anne Garrison, a toy buyer for Sinclair's department stores, returns to her hometown of North Bay, Maine, to help her father Bill Garrison, a wooden toy craftsman, with his retirement and the sale of his shop. While there, she reconnects with Keith McClain, the general manager of Wentzell Lumber Mill, and they team up to organize the town's annual Christmas festivities. As they spend more time together, a romantic attraction develops between them, but their uncertain futures, with Anne potentially leaving town and Keith possibly having to move, threaten to derail their budding relationship.
