In the early 1960s, two families, the Alices and the Celines, live in adjacent houses in Brussels, sharing a tight-knit friendship. Their children, Theo and Maxime, have grown up together, and their families spend all their time together, creating a sense of perfect harmony. However, when Maxime falls to his death from his bedroom window, the tranquility is shattered. Alice, who witnessed the tragic event, is consumed by grief and guilt, while Celine becomes increasingly erratic and accusatory, blaming Alice for her son's death. As Celine's behavior becomes more suspicious, Alice begins to fear that her friend is seeking revenge on her own son, Theo.
