Manila Calling background

Manila Calling

A group of American soldiers and Filipino rebels capture a Japanese jungle outpost and use its radio to spread anti-Japanese messages, sparking a series of retaliatory attacks from the Japanese military.

Japanese forces capture the American Radio Communications Company's principal radio station in the Philippines, prompting the staff to flee into the jungle and join Filipino Scouts, known as Moros. The group, consisting of radio technician Jeff Bailey and communications experts Lucky Matthews and Tom O'Rourke, links up with an old friend's plantation and, with Moro assistance, launches a guerrilla attack to reclaim the site and use its radio transmitter.
