Leah Waddell, a local TV weather girl, aspires to become a real meteorologist, but her boss Chris thinks she needs more experience. To focus on her career, she decides to move out of her parents' house, stop dating for a year, and complete her degree in meteorology. Meanwhile, men start showing interest in her, and she meets Mark Crawford, who's trying city life after growing up on a dairy farm. Mark helps Leah connect with nature to improve her forecasting skills, and their relationship remains platonic, but romantic feelings develop. However, Mark must decide if he'll return to the farm at the end of the year, and a former girlfriend's reentry complicates things.
