L'Homme pressé background

L'Homme pressé

In a world where time is of the essence, Pierre, an antique dealer, struggles to keep pace with the fast-moving society around him. He becomes increasingly desperate to speed up his life, despite the efforts of his wife, Mireille Darc, to keep him grounded.

Wealthy art dealer Pierre Nioux, a self-made man, rushes through life without slowing down. After buying a disputed country house, he meets Edwige, the daughter of the former owner, in a court battle and impulsively proposes to her. When Pierre's health begins to decline, he's more concerned with acquiring a rare Etruscan vase than his own well-being. Meanwhile, Edwige becomes pregnant and, despite her love for Pierre, decides to leave and hide from him, as he's eager to speed up her delivery to avoid the nine-month wait.
