Holly Silver, a former publicist, quits her job and returns to her family's business, Silver Investments, to save their annual Christmas toy giveaway to needy children. The event, founded by her late mother, is in danger after a professional fundraising company went bankrupt, taking all the donations with them. Holly's family wants to abandon the event, but she's determined to keep her mother's vision alive. She convinces former Major-League pitcher Jack Kane, whose own charity was affected by the same company, to be the face of a fundraising campaign. As they work together, they start to fall in love, but their relationship is threatened by the outcome of the fundraiser and the toy giveaway.
