A tiny Mexican fishing village on the Sea of Cortez is ground zero for an unprecedented series of gruesome, fatal shark attacks. The victims are local mollusk divers, who were viciously mauled in while diving on the sea floor. Only 2 weeks after the latest fatality, attack investigators Brandon McMillan and Paul De Gelder arrive- and use a surveillance camera to capture footage of a massive great white just offshore... a shark that fits the profile of the killer. Then, joined by marine biologist Gador Mutaner, the investigation takes them to the streets of the village- where they hear first hand accounts of the horrific fatal attacks. The villagers believe they're being targeted by sharks, and revenge is on their minds- will they take matters into their own hands and start killing off the sharks? Noted Mexican shark expert Mauricio Hoyos joins the team and leads Brandon and Paul to a great white "graveyard" in the desert. Here, they discover that the sharks may be using the waters off the village as a nursery ground- a vital habitat for these top of the food chain predators. Now, the team desperately searches for a way for sharks and people to co-exist...and believes the answer may be an experimental new "personal" shark cage made popular in far away New Zealand. Will the cage survive an encounter with multiple great white sharks, and will it be the key to preventing further fatalities in the Sea of Cortez?
