In the 1970s, Gangnam, Seoul's southern part, undergoes transformation as a developed area takes shape. Childhood friends Jong-dae and Yong-ki face financial struggles until their shanty homes are demolished by local thugs. Desperate for cash, they get entangled in violent political clashes, ultimately getting separated.

In the gritty streets of Gangnam, Seoul, two struggling individuals, Jong-Dae and Yong-Ki, scrape by collecting paper and bottles, only to find themselves entangled in a web of gangster politics and power struggles over the development of their neighborhood.
