In this film, 14-year-old Sarah Jones, played by Vinetrice Reynolds, faces the daily challenges of being a young slave girl until she experiences a transformative moment that sets her on a path towards freedom and empowerment.

Sarah Jones, a 14-year-old slave girl, longs to escape the hoperville plantation in Washington, North Carolina, and reunite with her family in freedom. After receiving crucial guidance from an elder just before she dies, Sarah decides to take a daring risk to recover a doll with a map leading to freedom. Despite her family's initial resistance, Sarah convinces her mother and brothers that she must retrieve the doll, and eventually gains the trust of the overseer to work in the "Big house". She executes her plan, retrieves the doll, and flees into the night with her family, ultimately reaching the freedom land of Regur, a magical place where Black Kings and Queens reign supreme, marking a permanent transformation in their lives.
