In occupied France, 1942, an Algerian immigrant named Younes struggles to make a living on the black market. After being caught by the police, he is released on the condition that he infiltrate the Paris Mosque and spy on the imam, Si Kaddour Ben Ghabrit, who is suspected of providing false papers to Jews and harboring them.
