Dark Days background

Dark Days

"Deep beneath the bustling streets of New York City, a hidden community of homeless individuals has carved out a makeshift existence, eking out a living in the dark, damp tunnels that crisscross beneath the concrete jungle."

Under the shadow of Penn Station, a group of squatters has formed a makeshift community, living in a network of underground tunnels and makeshift shacks. With the camera documenting their daily lives, the residents share their personal struggles, including traumatic childhoods, stints in jail, and struggles with addiction. Despite the harsh conditions, they've created a sense of family, scavenging for food, caring for pets, and even providing for each other's grooming needs. However, their precarious existence is threatened when Amtrak issues a 30-day eviction notice, forcing the community to confront an uncertain future.
