In this movie, a feisty Chicago journalist, Ernie Souchak, crosses paths with organized crime and gets brutally attacked by corrupt police officers. As a result, he's sent to Colorado to investigate an eagle researcher, where he initially clashes with her but eventually falls in love. However, his romantic getaway is cut short when he receives news of a mysterious murder, forcing him to return to Chicago and face the danger that still lurks there.
