A former immigration officer, Marshall, detains a group of Latin Americans on his last day of work, leading to a series of humiliating situations and ultimately, the death of a young Brazilian. Haunted by guilt, Marshall travels to Brazil, desperate to atone for his mistakes, and finds guidance from a young prostitute named Bia.
