A Thief's Daughter background

A Thief's Daughter

Sara's life is plagued by adversity, as her father is a convicted felon, her boyfriend has rejected her, her brother is a troublemaker, and she struggles to provide for her baby while dealing with partial hearing loss in one ear.

In Barcelona, 22-year-old Sara, a young woman with a hearing aid and a troubled past, struggles to care for her six-month-old son Joel and her 8-year-old brother Martín. She works multiple part-time jobs, including at a bar, to make ends meet. Meanwhile, Joel's father Dani returns from France, rejecting Sara's advances and searching for a new job. Sara's life becomes even more complicated when her father, a convicted thief, is released from prison and gets a job moving furniture out of foreclosed buildings. Despite her efforts to improve her life, Sara's chaotic existence takes a dramatic turn when her father announces he's leaving for Jaén to live with his aging mother, taking Martín with him.
