Olive Martin (Quirke),a heavily overweight young woman, was convicted of killing and butchering her mother and sister and sentenced to life imprisonment. Despite this, when she becomes an author and writes about her life, Rosalind Leigh (Goodall) develops a relationship with Olive. She is convinced of her innocence and works with restaurant owner Hal Hawksley (Fulford) to prove it, believing that the justice system has miscarried. However, beneath the surface, there are deeper layers of deceit.
