Before Krypton's destruction, Jor-El sent Krypto, Kal-El's beloved dog, up in a test rocket first. However, an accident put the dog in suspended animation, and he arrived on Earth years after Kal-El. Gaining Kryptonian powers in the yellow sun, Krypto was adopted by a lonely boy named Kevin Whitney with Superman's permission. With new allies Ace the Bathound and Streaky the Supercat, Krypto battles evil, including the animal companions of Lex Luthor and Catwoman.
