In the movie, Doctor Kemal, the ambitious head of a private hospital, is determined to become the mayor of Istanbul's Beyoglu district. Despite his good intentions, his skeptical ex-wife, voters, party leader, and even his loyal chauffeur doubt his candidacy, as they struggle to see him as more than just a doctor. The phrase "the doctor has the cure" may be a popular slogan, but Doctor Kemal is unaware of the true extent of political corruption he would face.
