Yesterday's Enemy background

Yesterday's Enemy

A band of surviving British soldiers, led by the formidable Captain Alan Langford, navigates treacherous jungle terrain to reach the safety of their own lines, pursued by the enemy during the Japanese invasion of Burma.

In the midst of a Japanese advance in Burma, a British captain and his weary troops seize a jungle village from enemy forces. Despite the objections of a priest and a war correspondent, the captain orders the execution of two innocent villagers to coerce a Japanese informant into revealing crucial information. However, when the Japanese retake the village, their commander employs a similar tactic against the British, mirroring the desperation and brutality of the original order.
