Thirty-year-old Richard Kerm, a former investigative journalist, returns to his hometown of Glenville after a decade away, seeking answers and a fresh start. He left Glenville at 19, abandoning his fiancée Jackie Bell, the mayor's daughter, without explanation. Richard finds that Jackie has moved on, now seriously dating Dr. Jeff Farley, and is running the family restaurant and town as mayor.
