Twelve boys and their assistant coach from the Wild Boars junior football team venture into the Tham Luang cave on June 23, 2018, but fail to arrive at a scheduled birthday party. Their families search for them and alert emergency services when they find their bikes left at the entrance. Royal Thai Navy SEALs and local cavers join the search effort, and British cavers Rick Stanton and John Volanthen eventually locate the team four kilometers from the entrance. As the rescue effort unfolds, a former Thai Navy Seal drowns, and hundreds of volunteers work to mitigate poor weather conditions. The divers sedate the boys and carry them out of the cave one by one, finally reuniting the team with their parents. The film is dedicated to the Thai Navy Seals who lost their lives during the rescue operation.
