Mohanlal plays Manickam, a loyal manservant and best friend to Venu's Srikrishnan. During a trip, they're accompanied by Karuthambi, a village performer, and her uncle. As they journey together, Manickal and Srikrishnan both develop feelings for Karuthambi, but Srikrishnan's intentions soon become selfish, causing tension between the two friends.
