Laura Partridge, a small stockholder of International Projects, attends a meeting and asks unconventional questions, catching the attention of CEO Edward McKeever. After he resigns, she bumps into him and they develop a connection. Meanwhile, crooked board members John Blessington and Clifford Snell try to exploit Edward's influence in Washington D.C. for their own gain, but he refuses to cooperate.
